Reading, January 1999: Albright College has opened classes for webmaster certification.
Albright College Computer and Consulting Services opened the new program in cooperation
with Dynamic Net, Inc. an Internet Service Company located in Womelsdorf. Dynamic Net
aided Albright College is the selection of classes that would be required for the
webmaster certification. Dynamic Net, Inc will also be assisting in the instruction of
some of the classes.
The classes are established in two tracks. Track 1 is for Web Authors- person who
researches, designs, formats and enhances information for a web site. This track is geared
towards the non- technical person. Track 2 is for Web Developers, and is geared towards
the more technical person, computer programmer or analyst, responsible for the corporate
Internet/intranet applications. The anticipated timeline for both tracks is 12 months for
traditional day classes and 24 for month for continuing education classes at night.
Peter Abraham, President of Dynamic Net Inc. and an outside instructor at Albright
College Computer Training and Consulting Services, stated "More and more companies
are becoming aware that anyone can put a title of Webmaster next to their
name. That person, however, may not have all of the skills that it takes to be a true
webmaster. These companies are now seeking additional credentials besides references, and
a person giving themselves a label/ title."
