Moving towards a unified hosting interface
April 2003
Peter M. Abraham
Robert Wood Johnson II, part of the Johnson and Johnson dynasty, once
stated:
We are not in business to make a profits;
we are in business to earn them by serving our customers.
We try to follow the same philosophy at Dynamic Net, Inc. We want
to ensure you are receiving a good value for your hard earned money.
We would rather make a fair profit that accumulates over time, and allows us
to invest into the business to scale to meet your growing needs rather than
make a quick buck.
We know part of the larger picture is to be able to automate what we can,
so our staff can spend more time looking out for your needs -- present and
future.
Part of that automation is empowering you to be to have changes to
features of your hosting service as instantly as possible without waiting
for one of our staff to respond.
Part of that automation is having a unified hosting interface so when
customers have Linux and Windows hosting plans they are not tearing their
hair out trying to learn two separate user interfaces.
Through careful research we found Parallels H-Sphere from Positive Software, Inc.
out of Brooklyn, NY. This system automates almost all of our hosting,
and provides a unified, browser-based, hosting interface for our resellers
and clients. The interface is the same for Linux, FreeBSD, and Windows
hosting customers.
The software is currently installed on two RedHat Linux servers, and we
have started signing up new hosting accounts utilizing this user-friendly
technology. We will be adding additional servers including Microsoft
Windows 2000 (maybe Windows 2003 depending on the timing) in the near
future.
By the way, I would like to add this move will enable us to add SPAM and
anti-virus protection along with other new features for your use with ease
as the technology becomes available.
Ryan May, our director of Managed Hosting Services, and I have been
working hard on making sure an easy migration from your current environment
to Parallels H-Sphere will take place over the next few months.
We have prepared an on-line demonstration of the control panel for you to
review. Please try out the
control panel demo of Parallels H-Sphere.
We've also prepared a set of Flash (movie) tutorials along with new
written documentation to help you get the very best out of the control
panel. You can also call us as you have in the past for help with
learning the product.
You can get a preview of these "movie"
tutorials at
