Feeling safer in an age of viruses and hackers
By Peter M. Abraham
February 2004
Did you know that a week
does not go by without at least one Web hosting provider being hacked into
or scores of personal computers infected by a virus or worm (MyDoom infected
well over 75,000 computers)?
How should you feel
about security as a Dynamic Net, Inc. customer? Or maybe, we should ask,
are you concerned about security as a Dynamic Net, Inc. customer?
We've been blessed, and
combined with our hard work can proudly say that over the past nine years
the servers we directly own and operate have never been hacked*.
Our security measures
and know how have been endorsed by Positive Software, Inc., the author of
Parallels H-Sphere (the control panel and automation software we use on our shared
hosting servers).
This endorsement has
provided our team with continuous flow of security work over the past nine
months as Parallels H-Sphere hosting provider after Parallels H-Sphere hosting provider have
contracted with our company to secure their servers.
That's right- we have
been securing the servers of other hosting companies for close to one year
now.
While I cannot go into
the details of our security measures, please note our servers are highly
monitored and most of the security is automated to the point that many
attackers are stopped cold without any human intervention at all.
What this means for you,
as our hosting customer, is that you are better protected at Dynamic Net,
Inc. than most other hosting providers on the market.
At DNI, quality and
security go hand in hand with providing personal support to our clients as
our number one priority- we put the same time and effort to apply our
expertise in server security and
administration into the servers that host even our smallest clients as we do
for hosting companies that rely on our services to keep their own customers
safe.
While we hope we are
able to keep up our pristine track record in server security, we invest just
as much time and money into our backup/disaster recovery plans to ensure
that even if the unthinkable happens, it will be a blip on the radar instead
of a tragic event.
Please email our support
department if you have any questions.
