A number of Internet Service Providers try to force you to use their mail server to send out email. Some of these ISP's, in forcing you to use their mail server, also force you to use the email address they gave to you rather than your domain name email address.
Dynamic Net, Inc. has set up a mail server for you running on port 2525 instead of the normal port 25. While we cannot guarantee the steps below will work with your ISP, we've had customers have success doing so.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While the instructions below are for Outlook Express and Outlook, any email program that allows you to alter the outgoing mail server (often called SMTP server) port will work with the concept described below.
First, click on Tools, Accounts.
Then click on the Mail Tab, select the mail account you want to modify, and click on Properties.
Then click on the Servers Tab, and make sure you have your outgoing mail server set up to be "mail." your domain name.
Then click on the Advanced Tab, and change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) from port 25 to port 2525.
Then click on Ok, then click on Close, and you are now set to send out email over the alternate port.
First click on Tools, Email Accounts.
Then select View or change existing e-mail accounts, then click on next.
Then select the email account you want to change, and click on change.
Then make sure you have your outgoing mail server set up to be "mail." your domain name.
Then click on More Settings, and change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) from port 25 to port 2525.
Then click on Ok, Next, Finish and you are set.
